Being light in your hiking boots is a glorious thing, and that's why you are faithful to the Smartwool Hiking Ultra Light Crew Sock. Merino is magical in the way that it manages moisture and keeps your little piggies at the perfect temperature all year long, and the lighter-but-thicker knit means this sock works well for temperate days. A flat knit toe seam makes the threat of blisters less likely than the possibility of winning the lottery. Mesh ventilation keeps the fresh air flowing while an elasticized arch support keep your foot comfortable without adding heft to this barely-there sock.

A cushioned hiking sock, not really "ultra" anything.
A fine quality product but too thick for my preference.

Soxxxtime
These socks have a nice design and construction but I wish Smartwool would release their men's socks in a XXL as well, or a wide option. These, for example, are just too narrow where the foot sits as well as throughout the ankle. It would be nice if the circumference was bigger. Otherwise the quality is pretty solid.

Not thin and be careful on the size.
Was using them for hiking, however, they are not ultra thin or light and bunch up on the heel. I have a size 12 foot and unlike any other smart wool I have purchased, these just don't fit right. They have now become my lounging around the house socks which I already have plenty of :( - at least they are nice and thick and comfy for loungewear. These also seem to be of a different material, different than any other SW I have purchased in the past.

The worst expensive sock you can buy
Out of all the great socks Smartwool makes, these just don't match up. They are a low quality sock comparatively. They wear poorly and are uncomfortable. These need to be removed from the inventory. Nothing good to say about them.

Im on my feet a lot in a pretty humid environment. These socks are a joy to wear and keep my feet happy.

Not Ultra Light
These socks seem ok, but they are definitely not Ultra Light. They are probably twice as thick as the PHD Ultra Light socks, and definitely more like a Light weight sock IMO.

Too tight
I have several pair of Smartwool socks. Most of them are too tight. I do not have large feet and ankles (6'0"", 150 lb.), yet many are hard to put on and harder to remove. What is "smart" about Smartwool, using less wool for the betterment of stockholders?

SOCKS FOR EVERY USE
I use them for everything. Being 67% wool, there's that much less plastic being introduced into the world (what about 100% wool socks?).
