The Waypoints' large main compartment carries all the necessary layers and gear required to stay in the backcountry for a full day, while the lightweight yet supportive design of the pack makes carrying it miles into the closest water easy. The main compartment can be accessed through via the top zip or the side-access sling zip, which is great when you don't necessarily want to take the whole pack off to grab a quick bite or a different fly out of your box. Simms designed the Waypoints to integrate with any Waypoints chest pack, so you can go ahead and leave the pack on once you're ready to start hucking some meat to those big, aggressive bullies.
