Crafted with a rough-and-tumble 420D ripstop, TPU-coated fabric, the Dry Creek Z Hip Pack from Simms features a welded construction, and is closed with a water-tight Truzip zipper, to keep us wading out in dry comfort. Interior stretch mesh pockets securely stow our nymph and dry fly boxes, and the centered net holster frees our hands up for the hike in. The hip is padded with breathable cushioning to help minimize lower back sweat, and a cross-body strap ensures the bag stays where we want it all day long.

Great pack for all conditions. .
Just did my first flats trip with the pack, it held everything I needed for a grand slam and kept my phone and wallet dry in some rainy and windy conditions. Definitely a better pack than my last one, the dry zipper is genius!

Great pack! I’ve had mine for a few years now and it has always been nice to have. My only suggestion to buyers is to get the new model or buy a belt net holder.

I like the size it holds the boxes I need to carry, I have found I prefer the waist pack over my sling, I find it easier for access

Very functional
Great at being water proof. Room inside is plentiful. Would have enjoyed separators to help organize contents but it works well and easy to use!

Great bag, just a couple small quirks
I was pretty impressed by the Dry Creek Hip Z pack. So far, the zipper seal seems like an improvement over previous models. The only downsides are 1. the hip and shoulder straps, while adjustable, are "one-size-fits-all", and so for people with average or slimmer than average build, there is a lot of extra strap material hanging off the buckles, and also hard to fine tune the shoulder strap. I would suggest Simms have a normal and extra-large model with different length straps. 2. A second internal pocket would be helpful for organizing gear. Otherwise I like it a lot and would recommend!
