Being intimately connected to rugged alpine environments also means you're well aware of the harsh conditions that accompany high-elevation travel, and Sherpa Adventure Gear is utilizing that knowledge when designing technical gear like the Lakpa Rita Men's Jacket.

Made in Nepal like most of Sherpa's products, the Lakpa Rita is a pure alpine shell, with a waterproof and highly breathable eVent 3L membrane that protects you from alpine gales, winter storms, and spring rains. Its rugged nylon fabric is finished with a DWR coating, allowing water to bead and run off instead of soaking in, and each seam is backed with waterproof tape to eliminate the micro-gaps that can allow moisture to seep in.

Since it was designed in conjunction with Sherpa guides, the Lakpa Rita strikes a perfect balance between streamlined design and full-featured protection. All the seams and pockets are optimized for comfort and accessibility under pack straps and harnesses (the hand pockets double as core vents), while the helmet-compatible hood features easy one-handed adjustment. Each zipper is waterproof, and the hem drawstring is recessed into small alcoves, so it won't catch on packs, climbing gear, trees, or rocks. Sherpa patterned the arms for maximum mobility, which is essential when you're making tenuous moves through treacherous areas, and finished the cuffs with hook-and-loop closures to form a tight seal around your wrists.
