Scott's RC Pro Tec Plus Bib Shorts, like the rest of its RC line, aren't clearly defined as being exclusively for road, which means you can throw them on for your next XC race and enjoy their lightweight, breathable design and Scott's luxurious +++ Pro chamois on the trail. Best of all, you won't have to worry about ruining your delicate road kit in the event of a spill on the trails.
Your first thoughts after a crash probably don't include concerns about your kit, but realizing the road or trail ripped a gash through your favorite bibs after you take stock of your own scrapes and bruises only adds to the disappointment. To make this scenario a less likely part of your future, Scott used Schoeller ITD ProTec fabric to construct the shorts' side panels, a fabric which uses carbon fibers and ceramic printing to ensure a high abrasion resistance against roads, roots, and rocks. It won't withstand everything, but you'll be a lot better prepared to crash than you would be without it, and as an added bonus, the fabric is antibacterial.
Throughout the rest of the bibs, Scott uses breathable synthetic fabrics that wick moisture away from your skin as you ride, as well as mesh inserts for increased ventilation. The all-new Scott +++ Pro chamois, engineered specifically with long rides in mind, features four different densities of cushy foam working to keep you comfortable in the saddle for hours, along with a breathable top layer to ward off bacteria.
