Scott's Nova II Women's Alpine Touring Boot is the ladies' version of the Orbit II, but that doesn't mean it's been "shrinked and pinked," as they say. Sure, the heat-moldable and breathable PWR Lite liner is specially designed to fit female feet, and the 110 flex is five points softer than the Orbit's to accommodate lighter skiers, but other than the two boots are pretty much the same. The Nova II is constructed with a Grilamid cuff and Pebax lower shell to provide a top-shelf combo of stiffness, weight savings, and smooth flex, while the Powerlite bi-material tongue is specially designed to improve the boot's flex while keeping out snow.
A good touring boot has to climb and descend with equal aplomb, so Scott made sure the Nova II could handle both the ups and downs by hooking it up with the unique TwinOne buckle system, which lets you keep the toe buckle secured for comfortable climbing while making it easy to lock your heel down for the descent. Scott's tech fittings are specially designed to reduce friction for increased smoothness on the way up, while the power strap and shock-dampening inserts give you a smooth, powerful ride back to the bottom.
