Those mountains you've been dreaming of skiing aren't going to ski themselves. Skiing them will require a little grit, a touch of insanity, and a ski that will get you to the top of your line, without weighing you down in the process. Built with a lightweight paulownia wood core and a versatile 95mm waist, the Scott Cascade 95 Ski was specifically designed for those leg-burning days in the backcountry when you really don't know what kind of snow conditions you'll be facing.
The Cascade 95 is built on the same platform as the Cascade 110, so you can expect to find similar downhill capabilities. The profile consists of tip and tail rocker to keep the ski loose and smeary when skiing tight, technical lines, but with plenty of camber underfoot, you can rest assured that the Cascade will hold a solid edge when every turn counts. When conditions are variable, you will want a ski that's stiff and stable, so Scott integrated carbon stringers within the sandwich sidewall construction to keep the ski stiff and stable, so anything from breakable crust to bulletproof melt-freeze to perfectly smooth corn won't be a problem for this ski. You might be wondering what those goo-dads at the tip and tail of the ski are all about. Well, those allow the Cascade to accept Scott's climbing skins, so you can attach the compatible skins to the ski and know that they aren't going to slide around when you're making kick-turns up a steep climb.
