A true do-it-all boot.
The Scarpa Freedom Alpine Touring Boot is packed full of high-tech materials and well-thought features. It has a patented Carbon Core, patented Ride Power Block walk mode, Axial Power Control technologies, and it was toiled over by gram-counting geeks. But, all you need to know is that it's lighter, stiffer, and super-powerful on the downhill. The Overlap closure system delivers a gap-free fit for optimal energy transfer, which also translates to power. No doubt about it, this freeride boot is light as a metaphorical feather, friction-free on the hike up, and an absolute beast on the descent.
An anatomic 101mm last gives your foot some wiggle room, which is nice for the climb, and it features Axial Power for lateral stiffness and control. The Intuition liner can be heat molded for a seamless fit and enhanced performance. This precise fit adds to the warmth this liner provides, which you'll notice during those scenery-loving breaks on the summit. The Ride Power Block allows a 27-degree range of motion on the hike and locks down securely for solid downhill performance. Vibram's Mountain Piste sole fits all alpine bindings and is interchangeable with an AT-compatible sole (optional). The Freedom and Freedom SL make up Scarpa's hard-charging freeride line.
