Excellent Hiking Shoe for Kids

I am super excited about this shoe! Our family is section hiking the AT in Virginia and I wanted a grippy but not bulky shoe for my children. I searched the internet for the "best hiking shoe for kids" and purchased a different brand first. My son did not like how this expensive shoe fit or looked. Saucony needs to get this shoe on that "best" list so others can find it. The shoe is lightweight, laces stay tied, grip makes my kids want to climb everything, uppers are water resistant which is great for morning dew, and they are comfortable straight out of the box. The first time my son wore them he did 7 rocky miles without complaining and even forgot to change into his camp crocs when we were done. Not sure how long they will last but I feel like my kids will outgrow them before there is an issue. A younger child wears the Saucony Cohesion Trail which are also great but not water resistant. Once I find her size available in the Peregrine I will switch her to these but for now, the Cohesion are great too.

Defective Soles

I bought 2 pairs of these shoes for my 2 kids to hike trails in. After the first hike for one pair, and after just day wear on the other pair, the toe soles have come apart from the shoe. I have been running in Saucony shoes for years and usually love them so I was surprised by the quality issues with these shoes. I would unfortunately not recommend these shoes because they don’t hold up at all.

LOVE THEM

I was leery about buying a Big Kids size....but checked a conversion chart and the 6 was perfect for my women's size 8 typical shoes. I love the colors, especially the side "bling". I'm not a runner, but they will be great for everyday wear, And a fantastic deal

Problems with sole

Having had good experience with saucony shoes for our kids, we were surprised when the bottom layer of the sole of these shoes started peeling off after only a few weeks of wear.

Best shoes for active kids

We've now bought many of these amazing waterproof shoes. I've been so happy with them. Great quality, lasting well through two kids and they keep feet dry. A must buy in our house!

Poor quality

The quality of these shoes is not very good. My child has only worn them a few times, and the front is already coming apart.
