Great potential but those pesky details…
Lightweight stable and easy to use. Wish the struts that ratchet down were 1” longer as 27.5 x 4.5” is really tight. Also the ratchet mechanism that allows the struts to pivot and lock into position is finicky at best and one has already completely failed to lock in less than two months.

Survived Hurricane Ian Saltwater Flood
Our house was flooded by Hurricane Ian. Most of the items that went underwater, especially metal, were destroyed by the salt water. We were certain that would include our Saris bike rack, but decided to clean and lube it to see if it could be saved. To our great surprise, it cleaned up and is back in perfect shape. If you have seen how much damage salt water does to metal, especially moving parts like the ones all over the bike rack, you realize how well it is made. Thank you Saris for making such a great product. Made in the USA means something.

Superclamp hd for e-bikes
great even on the fendered bikes (we use sponge strips to protect back fenders, front fenders do not interfere). We also use a Formosa cover (with net) and remove the batteries for travel. We protect the battery cavities with contractor garbage bags and tape. However, the bike separation is a hair too little and we do need to remove the kick stands on both bikes to avoid interference with the clamps (takes me about 10 minutes per bike to do it super-careful to avoid compromising electrical wires). The derailleur interferes with the clamp when mounted on the in-facing side, so the bikes travel with the kick stand sides facing each other (stands removed). Our travel vehicle is either a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie or a 2019 Subaru Outback 3.5 Limited.

So far, so good
This is a very nice bike rack, but two things that could be improved. The bracket that fits inside the 2 x 2 tube to secure the bold needs to be a permanent fixture. It has come loose several times and got caught in the neck of the 2 x 2 tube. A pain to retrieve. There needs to be some type of shim to remove some of the up/down motion.

Perfect bike carrier.
The super clamp HD 2 is everything I had hoped it would be. Very strong and holds my bikes securely very easy to load and unload. So many times these days you purchase products and when you get them they are nothing like expected. This is not the case with the super clamp it was as advertised and more I couldn’t be any happier.

Awesome Design on the HD
I used this for the first time this past weekend. It was so easy to load/unload. It easily packs away and readies in seconds. The bikes are secured and strapped in moments. A little pricey but in the long run, it will pay off.
