Why We Like The Santa Cruz Bullit Carbon CC MX X01 Eagle AXS Reserve e-Bike
Whether we're tackling freeride with a motor or E-Enduro races, the Santa Cruz Bullit is built to get us up and down the mountain as fast as possible. This slacked-out gravity sled is built from the ultralight, ultrastrong Carbon CC layup and has 170mm of highly efficient VPP travel so we can rail through berms and tackle the biggest lines without worry. The Bullit is purpose-built around a mixed wheel setup giving us the best of both worlds: rollover ability from the 29er up front and playful agility from the 27.5-inch wheel out back. The 64-degree headtube angle gives us the confidence to point our bike downward through the steepest terrain we can find while the relatively steep seat tube angle keeps us comfortable during long stretches in the saddle. The Bullit gets the powerful Shimano EP8 motor to give us a boost and a massive 630Wh battery so we don't get stranded miles from the trailhead without power.
This particular Bullit X01 Eagle AXS Reserve build leaves absolutely no stone unturned and delivers an insanely powerful bike in a lightweight package. The lightweight, ultra-reliable SRAM X01 Eagle AXS 12-speed electronic drivetrain delivers instantaneous shifting no matter how gnarly the conditions get, and a pair of SRAM Code RSC brakes provide plenty of stopping power when we get in over our heads on the trail. A 170mm Fox Factory 38 has the torsional stiffness we need to hold a line through chunder while a RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate gives us the confidence we need to send the biggest lines and ride out massive bomb holes with ease. A pair of burly Reserve carbon wheels round out the package with bombproof, lightweight performance. The Santa Cruz Bullit Carbon CC MX X01 Eagle AXS Reserve e-Bike is a true play-all-day machine ready to take us anywhere.

What a Blast
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have some knee issues and haven't been in bike shape in a few years. This bike let me have all of the fun with 1/4 of the climbing torture. Its still a workout but you can control the amount of intensity that you want to endure. Once you get the bike dialed in this thing will devour all! I'm 50 and I figure this might be my last bike that I purchase so i went all out with no regrets and for the sale price you cant beat it. I also own a 27.5 SC Bantam and a 29 Highball. The mullet setup felt pretty solid and fast but for my local tight trails I would prefer the smaller 27.5 wheel in the front. But this bike has gotten me back on the trails and feeling alive! The bike shipped in with no issues and is packed exceptionally well. It took quite a while to get things setup mostly because the dropper post was installed incorrectly by CC. There was to much slack in the cable under the seat post and so the seat would not function correctly. This should have been easily caught by the builder. But my rusty bike mechanics made everything worse when trying to retighten and trim the cable and sleeve. I pulled to much of the sleeve through and it got pinched into the frame. We had to take a lot of things apart to figure out the solution to our problem. Not fun for a new build. To make things worse during my first ride my seat popped off. Luckily I found all the pieces.
