Didn't like the design.
Salomon boots are well made and I have worn out several pairs. However I returned the latest purchase. The tongue was much smaller than previous pairsl and I didn't like that they eliminated one upper lace hook. Picture is deceiving. As a result couldn't lace tightly enough and they were uncomfortable.

Not nearly as nice as ultra 3
I tried to go up and down in size but the shoe does not feel right. My husband said the same thing. We both loved the ultra 3 we cannot longer get. This shoe is not comfortable

Perfect hiking boot!

Just what I was looking for! They are durable and heavy duty without being heavy or bulky. They are comfortable, supportive, have a snug fit, and are even cute. I doubled up on socks for the first couple hikes and that helped to break them in. Love them!

Sized too large
Cannot wear. Order at least a half or full size smaller than you normally would. About a full inch of room in the toe.

Absolutely Love These Hiking Shoes!

I purchased these hiking shoes for a trip I was taking to Australia and New Zealand with my adult daughter. The hiking boots I had previously (not Salomon) were not comfortable and my daughter recommended Salomon X Ultra 4 Mid GTX, since she had a pair and loved them. I have a slightly wide foot, so I ordered up a half size and they fit perfectly. We hiked in the mountains, in snow and rough/wet terrain and the soles were the best I have ever had on a pair of hiking shoes and boots. They also kept my feet warm and dry throughout my travels. I highly recommend these hiking shoes!

So comfortable
I’ve hiked 4 or 5 times in these boots and they were comfortable right from the start. Most hiking boots have a breaking in period; these did not.

Had to return
Loved the look of them but when I received them I found that when walking, the shoe folds and digs into my foot. The sizing is correct but just didnt fit my foot shape correctly and was very uncomfortable. Had to return.

lightweaght and waterproof

I got these in preparation for a backpacking trip in June. I needed to up my boot game fo more ankle support. It took 50 miles or so to break these in , there was a weird pokey bit on one boot. Wore them on a pretty wet and muddy hike this weekend and my feet stayed dry
