Why We Like The Salomon Strive MN 16 Ski Binding

Lightweight, low-profile, and reliable, we rock the Salomon Strive MN 16 Ski Binding every time we ride at the resorts. These bindings provide reliable release and retention by combining a healthy 16 DIN with an SCP slider pedal. As a result, we can ski with confidence and trust the low stand height to help us drive our skis through powder and down groomers.

Well thought out upgrades!

This new binding and specifically the toe piece is the result of Salomon looking to improve not regress. It offers excellent compatibility with the various toe lug shapes so it saves a lot of hassle and confusion when it comes to potentially picking another boot down the road. The toe offers an excellent blend of the elastic travel the STH toe was known for, but a similar lateral stiffness to the Warden MNC toe. Basically power transfer meets smooth sailing. It is slightly lower than the Warden toe stack height so you get the benefit of better snow feel on wider skis as well.

Great improvements

The new strive 16 brings the same confidence and performance of the MNC but is lighter and seems like its a bit more connected to the ski. The binding skis flat, without any noticeable toppling forward feeling.

Closer to the Ski Closer to the Snow

After getting a sneak peak and a couple days on the Strive 16 near the end of last winter. I really enjoyed skiing it on the all new QST 106 and comparing it to my older 106. The new strive I get a better on snow feel as I am closer to the ski and closer to the snow. The thing I love about all Salomon bindings is how easy it is to step in and the sound it makes. Once I am clipped I know I am ready for a fun time in the trees, bumps, park, groomers.

Elastic Travel is the name of the game

This binding has changed ski feel for me. It offers a very close to ski feeling and power transfer is exceptional. The strive manages to achieve this in such a lightweight and durable package, it will be my binding of choice for years to come due to it's superior ski feel and elastic travel.

They held me down

I’m not easily contained… but they held me down. Finally, some security in this unsecured world.
