Very pleased!
I need a wide fit and therefore because it’s nearer 1E than 2E, I ordered half a size larger than normal. I’m please to say this has worked out ok and they’re very comfortable. I think that’s helped by the softness of the upper. However, I would have preferred They’re very light and I’m surprised that I like the lacing arrangement, as I had my doubts. However, I would have preferred a better, more secure place to stow the loop.

SC6 Wide after 640K
After having several pairs of Solomon trail shoes over the years this is my first pair of Speedcross. Since I am a mid-foot striker, I did not try them before because of the high drop (10mm). Anyways, I barley noticed the drop the first time I ran in them. I think it is part of its unique design. I run most of the time in trails by the river avoiding as much as possible hard surfaces (tarmac/pavement/concrete) and participate in 2-3 races a year of 25K in average. These shoes have a superb grip, especially on soft/muddy terrain and the upper close knit keeps debris away. The WIDE fit is also a plus for me because I found the regular fit a little bit too narrow. As for quality, it is great. A little over 640 kilometres (400 miles) and except for a bit of mud, the shoes look like new including the 5mm lugs. No issues at all. My only comment (wish) for Salomon would be to have a L&W (low and wide) version of these shoes for mid-foot strikers. I mean, if you could reduce the heel stack to 24 or 26mm keeping the forefoot stack as is on 20mm, that would be great (4-6 mm drop) for a firm, low to the ground ride. If you are looking for a softer, more cushioned ride, Salomon has several models designed for Ultra marathons. Back to the SC6, I find them very comfortable in "short" distances, especially when the weather is cool and the terrain is soft (spring and autumn up here, and even in winter time).

The Wide version of this shoe ROCKS!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 11 1/2 widw
I've had Solomons in the past, but being able to get this shoe in wide makes it SO much more comfortable. If you're looking for a hiking or trail running shoe with great grip when it gets sloppy, this is your shoe.

Very comfortable shoe
This shoe is very comfortable and durable. I don’t normally need wide shoes but these run narrow so I buy the wide. Wish they made the wide in more colors, currently it’s only grey or black!

The Speedcross 6 Wide LG is not just an upgrade!
After spending some time with the Salomon Speedcross 6 Wide LG, I'm thoroughly impressed. The wider fit is a game-changer for someone like me who needs a bit more room without sacrificing performance. Right out of the box, these shoes felt ready for any trail adventure I could throw at them. The grip is phenomenal – muddy trails, loose gravel, and steep inclines, nothing slowed me down. What stands out is the balance between rugged durability and surprising lightness, making each run feel responsive and energetic. Salomon's cushioning technology shines here, offering comfort and support through long distances. It's rare to find a trail shoe that delivers so consistently across every aspect, from fit to function. The Speedcross 6 Wide LG is not just an upgrade; it's my new standard for trail running shoes.

It's a decent show with poor laces.
The shoe fits well, but the laces are extremely annoying. Attempting to tuck the tab and laces into a small pocket with cold, wet hands is difficult, and depending on how old the shoe is, the small pocket may not hold the tab and laces during a run.
