Great Sturdy Hiking Boots
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Great hiking boots that provides great ankle support and the quality of the material is incredibly sturdy.

A few months in and they are great
Bought these for a hiking trip in the Azores. Hiked in them for a couple of months prior to work them in though they seemed fine right away. Have been great so far. No blisters through the whole trip and they were fantastic for the Mount Pico hike. Didn't feel as bulky as I was worried they might and are good ankle support. I find some Salomon hiking shoes can fit on the narrow side but these were fine in my regular size

Slippery boots and splits at the toebox
I’ve had 2 pairs now, same issue They are dangerously slippery on anything damp and they split at the toebox. Time for another warranty request ugh

Stable and stiff for my prosthetic leg.
Good fit, stability and weight for every day use. As an amputee LBK I need a stiff and lightweight shoe that will keep me going all day long. Salomon Quest 4 is the ticket for me. I have other shoes that work well also but you can't beat the weight of the Quest 4.

Poor build quality - great warranty service
These boots were a warranty replacement as the upper on my previous pair split. After six walks one of the lace eyelets came off leaving two rivet holes behind. Another warranty claim followed and was dealt with quickly and efficiently. I've had Quest boots for years without issue and now the last two pairs have failed. Build quality has clearly declined and really isn't good enough for a premium boot.

unhappy
SIDE OF TOEBOX SPLIT AND FAILED ON THIS PAIR OF BOOTS WHICH WAS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE FIRST PAIR WHICH ALSO FAILED IN THE SAME PLACE. THESE ARE GREAT BOOTS FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND THEN....... I WILL TRY ANOTHER PAIR SINCE IT HAS BEEN A FEW YEARS AND SALOMON HOPEFULLY HAS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM

Light and sturdy
Bought these for my husband's birthday. He loves them, the look, the feel. They are light and very comfortable but giving ankle support all the same.

Nice sturdy boots
I bought these boots a month ago to replace a pair of hiking boots which lasted me about ten years. The Quest 4 look good and feel robust. They feel sturdy and offer great ankle support for tougher terrain. They do feel a bit stiff at first but it gets better every time I wear them.

Rubber Peeled Away From Toe
I'm a long time, loyal Salomon boot wearer. My last pair were Quests and the rubber peeled away from the toe sooner than what I thought. I went ahead and replaced them with the newer Quest 4. Out of the box, they were exceptionally stiff from toe-to-heel. As an offtrail hiker, this meant it was constant. This did not go away and caused pain on pretty much every step on inclines. None of my other Salomon boots caused this at all. The biggest deal breaker was the rubber along the front of the foot coming away from the shoe. I owned them for ~8-10 months and it started happening during this time. And this was only over ~10 short trips. A lot of good things about these boots, but they're let down by foot pain and especially bad glue.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I ordered these from thier website. Arrived quickly. These are truly great hiking boots. Goretex and a hard sole. It just doesn't get any better. I only changed the laces to black to be a little more subdued. I would buy another pair when it's time to replace them.
