Does this ski have extended edges? How come the side cut profile on this ski is 51/47/49 vs the 190 EVO Trail ski which is listed at 69/60/65? Can you mount NNN bindings and how much extra?

My husband and I are threatening to start cross-country skiing in Northern Michigan -- we're both novices. He's athletic -- 6'3" and I'm guessing about 190 pounds. Do you think the Rossignol Evo Trail Positrack's are a good choice for a beginner, and would you say the 190 cm?

Responded on

The Rossi Evos would be a good ski for him to start out on. The extra width will give him greater stability on groomed and especially fresh terrain, and the Positrack will mean good grip and low maintenance. He could do 180 or 190 with his size. The 190 will be a little more unwieldy to start out on but if he is hoping to use the same set for a couple seasons he will appreciate them more after the first couple months.

At 210 lbs you will appreciate the longest size - go for the 190cm.
