When it's your turn to belay, locate the RAB Women's Microlight Alpine Down Jacket in your pack, pull it out of its stow chest pocket, and slip into the warmth of 750-fill down. Superior-quality European goose down boosts your body heat without the bulky, heavy feel you get from excessive layers and synthetic insulation.

  • Down-filled hood for head warmth
  • Modest 14oz weight for all your alpine adventures
  • Pertex Microlight fabric is lightweight, downproof, windproof, and breathable
  • 2 Zippered hand pockets and one chest pocket for essentials
  • Jacket stuffs into chest pocket
  • Lycra-bound hem and cuffs keep the warmth in
  • Medium cut allows for layering underneath without causing cold spots

Bottom Line: Compressible warmth for a paltry 14 ounces.

very well made jacket. ordered this jacket in a large. (140# 5' - 8"). sleeve length was a little long. but shoulders of this jacket were cut very big, so i couldn't wear it. on me, the patagonia women down sweater in a large is a perfect fit..

Definitely at least a small. If you notice, another reviewer with a 34" chest said the small was too tight to layer under. You may even want to explore a medium.

Perfect jacket for both everyday wear and skiing

By:
May 2, 2012

I bought mine jacket Dec-2011 and I've used it a lot - both for downhill skiing and normal everyday use. Allthough it's very light and not so thick, it's very warm. I'm a normal size medium/36-38, and the medium/12 was perfect for me. I bought one "Twilight" and my friend bought one "Majestic" and we both love it. And now my mother in law even bought one!

Yeah for sure, wouldn't think you would need a down jacket in the summer time... think layering instead...

Hi, I have a question about sizing on this Rab jacket-
I am 5'8", 130lbs, 34 bust, long arms & torso, wondering what size would fit me best? Thanks for your help~

I am the exact same size as you and I ordered the medium. However, my shoulders are narrow and I found the medium to still be a little big across my chest and in my arms. I returned it for a small and I am happy with how it fits. It is definitely snug, but I prefer the way it looks and feels over the medium. One nice thing about Rab is that it runs long in the torso and arms. So I was able to find a jacket that fits in length, but wasn't to baggy for my upper body. (Which is a problem I run into with most jackets) Hope that helps :)

Because you're 5'8", large would give you the best length, but it would be too big for your body. Rab generally isn't too long, because there stuff is designed to fit over climbing harnesses. If you're using it as a belay jacket to go over stuff, get a large, otherwise get a medium and you should be fine. It also depends if you have a long torso or long legs.

LOVE IT

Love this coat. I was debating if I should buy this coat. The color is awesome the size is great. Super cute fit, I've gotten tons of compliments on this coat. Plus you can take it anywhere, it's so light and airy. I got a S and I'm 5'4" and about 115 lbs.

Just to warn you - this jacket runs small. I have a 34 bust with broad shoulders from climbing and the small was much too tight. I couldn't layer anything under it. Also, the "red" inside the twilight colored jacket is more of a PINK. Therefore I think I am going to order the antifreeze in a medium, but looks like an awesome jacket and I can't wait to wear it this winter!!
