Its Gore-Tex 2-layer membrane/laminate, fully taped seams, and YKK Aquaguard zippers keep you nice and dry through a wide variety of wet, snowy conditions. Its micro-fiber chin guard offers a comfy, chafe-free feel when it's fully zipped, while the mesh-lined underarm vents help to regulate your temperature on warm spring days. Clean Jacket, Nice improvements

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have last years and got to check out this year. They pretty much handled all of my issues.

-The goggle pocket is much deeper this year so you can actually hold something in there without worrying about it falling out.

-The single pull hood has bungie that passes over the forehead now. This is a big deal as it draws the hood tighter across your forehead keeps the hood from blowing back when you are in severe wind.

-The hood closes up nicely, allows good articulation and still covers your face without being overly gimicky.

-Still no pass pocket on the sleeve, but a good pass clip in the main pocket.

-Surprise feature: Zip interface to pants! They don't advertise this, but its definitely on the one I looked at..

-Same exterior fabric. It does a great job blocking wind and sheeting water, still breathes well, and isn't super heavy. Great for layering. Not as light as a 3 layer jacket, but good for all but the most insane hikes.

If you're looking for a jacket that tons of pockets and zippy shit, this isn't it, but if you like a no frills, well made jacket that is super clean and a great bang for the buck, this is is it.
