The result of a multi-year project between Black Diamond and Pieps, the Pieps Tour Pro 34 Jetforce Pack ditches air canister systems for the fan-powered deployment of Jetforce technology. This cutting-edge airbag system inflates in mere seconds with the simple pull of its deployment handle. Once inflated, the durable Cordura airbag holds air for three minutes, allowing you to stay on top of the snow in the event of a serious slide. After three minutes, the airbag deflates to create an air pocket, just in case you're still buried beneath the snow.

Not only is this advanced technology helpful for keeping you above the snow in an avalanche scenario, but it's also battery-powered for multiple uses, allowing you to practice deployment without having to refill an air canister. The Jetforce is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides approximately four deployments per charge. Another huge benefit to this technology is the airline-friendly nature of the Jetforce, since there's no compressed air canister to worry about. And to ensure reliability, there's a self-diagnosis system that runs a check of the system's vital components before giving you the go-ahead that it's ready to run.

The pack itself is relatively straight forward with all the essentials required for a demanding day in the backcountry. The front pocket houses your avy tools, such as a collapsible shovel and probe. Ski and snowboard carry systems offer a handy solution when you're bootpacking up steep chutes, and the pack maintains the ability to still deploy the airbag system with gear strapped to the pack in the event of a slide. The roomy main compartment is accessible via the back panel, allowing you to quickly grab and stash gear. Another cool feature is the Glacier Loop, which attaches to a climbing harness for crevasse rescues.
