Why We Like The Performance Twill Pant

If experience has taught us anything, it's that plans don't always go . . . well, as planned, but the Patagonia Men's Performance Twill Pant prepares us for anything the day brings. From morning hikes to afternoons around town, this pant delivers comfort and performance thanks to its stretch twill construction. A wicking finish pulls moisture away when we're working hard and, repels water to keep dry. Best for lean-to-medium builds, this pant has a slim fit with a classic 5-pocket design to look good wherever we roam.

They run small

Size Bought:
28

The material feels ok, but the cut is very restrictive with little to no stretch. They also run very small (I’m a 28, and ordered a 28 -but should’ve ordered 30 in these). I originally ordered these as I needed a pair of pants that could double as hiking pants to visit some national parks while on vacation. I would not recommend these for that.

Fit was way off

Some reviews say they run small, I ordered my usual size and they were too big. Short size was no where near a 30? inseam. Leg opening very big. Great material, wanted to love these but couldn?t get the right fit. If you get a pair that fits, you scored.

Seems nice, but runs small

I was excited to get these. I like Patagonia, and the material & construction are indeed nice! But, they run smaller than what I?m used to. I am about a 34" or 35" in Uniqlo, Gap, or Levi pants (though after months of quarantine and not enough exercise, 35" is probably more true). I am an average build for a desk worker, 5'10" & 180 lbs, perhaps with slightly wider-than-average hips. I bike a few times a week, but I am no super-fit runner or climber. I ordered 34"/Short, figuring these have some stretch. The pants say this is a 30" inseam, which seems about right for me, matching my expectations & my height. Unfortunately, when I tried them on, I realized that I would need either a 36" or 37" size. I?ve just measured my waistline with a string & yardstick (obviously should have done this before ordering), and it is about 37.25" ? so I suppose maybe Gap & Uniqlo have flattering sizing, while Patagonia is probably more scientifically accurate. Also notable: the cut of these is not really "slim fit" in the sense I am used to. The thigh area seems pretty tight, while the lower legs are pretty loose. I prefer a more tapered cut for comfort, biking, & aesthetics. So, I guess maybe I?ll try again, but perhaps with a different pair of Patagonias at a larger size.
