Why We Like The Outdoor Research Hemispheres II Jacket
The Hemispheres II Jacket features burly and breathable GORE-TEX technology that keeps us sheltered from the elements while releasing excess heat, run after run. Through most of the jacket, GORE-TEX C-Knit fabric is soft and quiet without sacrificing the sturdiness for which we trust the brand. At the center back and wrists, GORE-TEX Stretch panels offer even greater mobility, making this snow jacket ideal for our most active days on the mountain.

Awesome Jacket
I love how lightweight it is but still super warm! I also really like the fit and how long the back is.

Great weatherproof hard shell, but expensive
I got this shell in hopes of having a jacket that could be used for "casual" activities (general rain jacket), but also activities like high alpine backpacking (rain/wind protection), cross country skiing, and downhill skiing. I'd say this jacket has lived up to my expectations after a few wears cross country skiing - it's windproof, waterproof, and the features make it exceptionally adaptable. The side ventilation zippers help me vent after I'm warmed up on the trail, and the oversized hood protects every bit of my hair. I love that the sleeve openings are adjustable for my thin wrists. My one complaint is that the interior zipper for essentials does not fit a phone - only the exterior vertical pocket can fit a phone. It's a small gripe though for an otherwise very functional jacket.

Excellent shell, consider sizing down
I'm 5'9, 138lbs, 34D, generally wear S or M. I bought the Small and I'm glad I did because it still runs plenty large - sleeves and overall length work great for my body type. I can layer this with one or two puffers underneath and still be able to move around easily. It has "Performance level Gore-Tex" with stretch. Good amount of pockets that are easy to access & open/close. The hood is easy to adjust and I like the dual zipper on the front.

Favorite Backcountry Skiing Jacket
The Hemisphere's jacket is my favorite backcountry ski jacket. It's lightweight and packable, it's waterproof and yet has enough stretch to feel comfortable. The pockets are sized nicely and fit your phone. The hood fits over my helmet, and I have tested this jacket in the worst weather conditions and it holds up to it all. It pair perfectly with the Hemispheres bib, and makes for a high quality, highly technical outerwear. You won't be dissapointed. Fits true to size.
