Here's what others have to say...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these pants in the summer gearing up for a full season of skiing, pretty even split of resort and backcountry. so far i have 15-20 days on them and they are destroyed. my a$$ is always soaked on the chairlift, all the stitching is done with dental floss, velcros are falling off everywhere, gore-tex is delaminating and nikwax doesnt help. orage, you blew it.

Solid Bib

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I work at Mt. Baker and these pants see a lot of use. I'll throw them on about 50-60 days per season, pretty much all the time if im not wearing my fishing bibs for rain (this season being 2.5). I've been very pleased, holding up well, nice to be able to wash/dry them regularly so they bead again. they breathe really well. 'sideways' pockets are rad for accessing when you're seated. vents are also pretty stout, (i've had no problem with them rubbing on my knees when I tour, especially with a lightweight long underwear) I only say they run small because they fit slimmer with a more normal inseem rather than all the stupid park rat rags being made. I'm 5' 10" and 175 and I have a the large which is perfect

A little background...
I live in SLC and claim Snowbird as my home mountain. I ski about 35-50 days a season and am a fairly aggressive skier.

The Pants:
I was looking for a kit that was a bit less pricy than the Patagonia/Arcteryx so I figured...with the specs, this pant (along with the JP Pro Jacket) would be a solid bet. I mean, GorePro, fully Taped seams ect, doesn?t sound bad....
Well I have rode them 1 day, and didnt rip hard by any means, and these pants are already falling apart. The material has a couple tears in them already and the stitching is coming out EVERYWHERE....literally, seams are coming apart in a number of different places. The Velcro patches to hold the bibs together are already coming undone and one is hanging by a thread, on the verge of coming completely off.

With crappy material and horrible craftsmanship....I would not recommend these pants to anyone.

Pretty disappointed to see this happening after just 1 day of riding (and I am being serious, 1 day, that?s it). I would not recommend this brand to anyone, my GF also has a pair of their pants and the same thing is happening. As for the style?.yeah they look cool, but with this price tag, half a season before they completely fall apart isn?t exactly ?cool?.

Lifetime warranty, you're talking about defects in production, not wear and tear, volcom should honor that lifetime warranty..

Great so far

My old pair of ski pants were Orage and I really liked em, so I grabbed these. I only have about a weeks worth of skiing on them so far but I'm very happy. The fit is decent, I'm tall (6'3" , and somewhat thin (33" waist) so I went with the large, which was the same as my last pair. The length is fine but I do need to cinch the waist down (which is fine). No deep powder days yet here, but they've kept me nice and dry. The vents are great for keeping comfortable in line/walking to and from the truck (and no doubt will be even better come spring skiing). I'll try and remember to edit this review with an update after the season.
