Surf, splash, cruise and cast with serious stability.

You woke up early to the rising sun, the surf report's looking good, and you nailed your breakfast eggs—load up the Ocean Kayaks Scrambler 11 Sit-On-Top Kayak and head down to the beach to catch some early morning waves. Once you've had your fill of surfing, toss the Scrambler back onto the car, grab the kids, and head to the lake for a day full of fishing, cruising, and watery shenanigans. The Scrambler's Tri-Form hull is stable as a table and keeps you tracking as straight as an arrow, and the Cam Lock day hatch and oversized rear tank well hold all the sunscreen, clothing, and extra snacks you need for a day on the water.

Most importantly, the Scrambler has a molded cup holder (recreational kayaking rule #1—always have your beverage of choice close at hand) and side-mounted paddles keepers so your sticks don't float away when you're engaged in an epic battle with a giant, man-eating 5-inch lake trout. Lucky for you, you'll be securely stuck in the Scrambler's molded seat and foot wells, so that monstrous devil won't be able to take you for a swim and, if he tips you over during the struggle, you'll be able to dump all the water out of the Scrambler using the threaded drain plug.

This was designed for the Scuba crowd so they were designed to have a diver toss their tank into the well, then do a wet reentry wearing a wetsuit. When the divers offered a suggestion, OK changed the boat to meet their needs.

Then the fishing community found them to be a perfect fishing boat, going where no other boat could go and remaining stable and afloat when others ran for shore.

Basically, these are really tough and strong boats that take a lot of punishment. When on the ocean, I like them as they are easy to reenter which makes them the rental of choice at many marinas. On hot days, that pool of cold water you sit in is refreshing.

But get the older models which are stronger and lower. The newer models are thinner and not as strong, plus they are higher which makes them tippier.

They are slow and won't win any races but they will keep you safe.

it's great-I have the older version

I bought this kayak from Bass Pro maybe 8 years ago and love it. I take it on lakes and in the ocean for fishing. the hatch storage is not completely dry. This kayak is fairly easy for one person to put on the car. It would be better with rod holders on the front. I did add a anchor trolley and a fish finder to this kayak.
