How this would fit as mid layer with the gore-tex shell over
How this would fit as mid layer with the gore-tex shell over it? I usually use small for everything, would a small fit good with a small sethmo jacket over it? How about the two hoods to deal with... would that be too much?

Its not a mid layer piece. Like Arthur says about the hood, would be annoying having a hooded mid layer with a hooded jacket. This is a spring or warmer day piece, you could layer with it on colder days as it being and exterior shell. There isn't a powder skirt so you would probably notice that on a powder day.

It'd probably be fine in terms of weight/warmth as a midlayer but it is meant more as an outer piece on days where you don't really need a hardshell since there is no precipitation. And finally I have always had problems with 2 hooded pieces at the same time being really annoying and uncomfortable.

Wind Stopper Soft Shell, has a nice feel. Hard to tell in this picture but the is a fixed hood. Layer Piece or stand alone while hiking or warmer spring like conditions. Front pockets are pretty big with a media pocket in one of them. My photo shows it in yellow, which is not offered here. I wear an XL.
Is the hood big enough to fit over a helmet?

So, maybe someone other than Seth Morrison should review the Sethmo Softshell? LOL.
Nice jacket, replaces a Patagonia Ready Mix that I finally retired. The hood is big but I don't wear a helmet - fortiunately, it stows away nicely and is unobtrusive. Jacket is simple and clean, doesn't breathe as well as my last soft-shell but pretty close and it's more weather-proof. Nice piece, glad I took a chance on it.
The Cinder Orange color way has a white zipper in the backcountry
The Cinder Orange color way has a white zipper in the backcountry picture, but a black zipper from oakley's web site. Which is it? Seemingly trivial question, but could be a deal breaker for some.
