On your must have list

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

A throw rope is one of those essential items that all paddles must have with them while on the river. This is the one I trust!

Its a simple items that consist of a good quality rope that stuffs into a very durable bag. Most of the bag has a solid fabric layer that can be filled with water for weight if need for an extra quick throw. The top third is made of a mesh fabric that helps with quick draining when needed. (For drying, I'd recommend pulling the whole thing out to make sure it completely dries.) The rope passes through a hole in the bottom of the bag and is secured with a knot on each side. There is a piece of foam in the bottom that keeps it afloat and ads an extra layer between your knots. It also has a draw string at the top opening that closes everything up and keeps the rope inside.

This bag works great for a throw rope. The weight and size of the bag make it easy to get good, accurate throws. The big reason that I like this bag more then some others is the sizes. Yes its bigger then most, but I can keep it strapped in my boat between my legs and it is right in reach when I need it. Since it is heavier duty then most, I trust it for situations other then just throw rescues. It is a great rope for setting anchors, creating Z-Drags, conducting
V-lowers, etc. When I'm setting safety over a class 5 drop, its a great feeling knowing you can trust your anchors. This bag paired with a Astral throw bag completes a great safety pack by having the quick boat based bag in your PDF and the heavy duty shore based bag tucked inside your boat. The more options the better!

This is a great item to have in all those situation in which we hope we never get into.

Great rope

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I lead trips with Georgia techs outdoor program and these are the ropes we buy to use with our students. They go on lots of trips and are abused. And they stand up great and work perfectly. Wouldn't leave the house with out one.

Very easy to use and the larger size allows for a looser flaked rope which helps prevent throwing a rats nest.

Reach Throw Row Go

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used this bag as a commercial guide and loved it. It is a big bag that allows the rope to come out unimpeded and for easy, fast flaking back into the bag. When wet even those users that aren't as strong will be able to through the full 75 feet. The bag and rope both float and the strap on top allows you to clip it where you would like it. Bottom line, it is a very easy to use, very efficient rope.
