    Those Norwegians think of everything.

You’ll rejoice at how good the Norrøna Women’s Trollveggen Warm 2 Jacket looks each time you pull it out of your summer storage boxes. Made from strong, flexible, and lightweight Polartec Thermal Pro fabric, this fleece jacket was built to last season after season. The Trollveggen Warm fits smoothly beneath your shell as a mid-layer to keep you toasty on frigid winter days and can be worn alone on chilly autumn mornings. In case you need both hands on your hyperactive dog’s leash, just stash your keys and cash in the chest and hand pockets. Norrøna included thumbholes for comfort and for blocking out the cold.

    Great for hiking

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS

I couldn't decide between this jacket and the Patagonia R2, so I bought both. It was clear that the Norrona jacket was a much better quality and warmer fleece, so I immediately returned the Patagonia jacket. I hiked in the White Mountains (NH) a few weekends ago. Temperature was in the 40s and this fleece paired with a long sleeve dri-fit top was all I needed. I was hiking in crampons most of the day, so I was working up a sweat and this fleece had great breath-ability. It's super cozy too and I've made a habit of wearing it around home. Easy to wash and dries quickly. I'm petite with a 32" bust, 98 lbs and the XS fits me well (snug, but not too tight).

I wanted to be a bigger fan of this fleece than I actually was...especially after reading so many raving reviews. My biggest dislike of this was the hand pocket placement though...it's just awkward, too high to be useful or comfortable. Living in CO, I use hand pockets on my jackets ALL the time, especially since I always seem to have cold fingers once the temps go below 50 degrees. Everything else about this jacket was spot on though. I'm going to sell this one and go back to TNF Denali though.

    Great Fleece

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She is about 5'11" and a size 0. So, tall and thin.

I liked this because it is fitted and I thought it would fit her better than the other jackets in this class. It also has reviewed well.

She absolutely loves it. The fleece is heavy and fairly dense. It isn't windproof, but it is warm. It seems to be made well and should hold up for a long time.

If you need a fleece jacket, this is the one!

    Warm and cozy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I lived in this fleece on a winter road trip where the temperature ranged from 0F to 20F, and I was amazed at how well it kept me warm! In calm conditions, this fleece over a baselayer was enough to keep me comfortable walking around. As other reviewers noted, it *is* a fleece, so you'll feel the wind. Fortunately, while it's a little on the bulky side, it's fitted enough to go underneath a puffy jacket or hard shell.

I do find that this fleece runs a little smaller than some of Norrona's other tops and jackets, both in circumference and in torso/arm length, which is to say it doesn't run as large/long as Norrona usually does. The sleeves fit my long arms, but unfortunately they're not quite long enough to make the thumbholes really comfortable. For me, the sleeves on the Lyngen Warm2Flex jacket are more comfortable for thumbhole use. And while I can wear a thin baselayer underneath this fleece, a midweight baselayer would be pushing it. But since it's so warm on its own and fits so nicely under outer layers, fitting heavier layers underneath it hasn't been a concern for me.

Some reviewers haven't enjoyed the snug fit of the neck, but I appreciated it on those cold days; a looser fit would have allowed in too much cold air.

All in all, highly recommended and well worth the price!

    Warm and cozy

    Great Everyday Fleece

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I live in Northern California and I use this everyday as my outer layer with typically a cotton shirt as a base. It keeps me warm in conditions down to around 45 degrees Fahrenheit and thats with wind.

Has lots of room in the shoulders but fits nicely through my torso. I have big shoulders so its nice to have the space. Fits well with my harness and allows me a full range of motion when I'm climbing or belaying in it.

The neck is a little tight but I like it because it keeps me warm. The pockets are spacious enough to keep wallet, phone, and sunglasses.

Only issue is the seam on the thumb hole has split and I just need to sew it back together.

Quality fantastic jacket, too tight neck

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small and medium

I think that I am torn about this jacket. I love the color, the features (zippered pockets, warm fleece (really warm), zipper chin protection). I wasn't sure I was ok with the price and knowing what it MIGHT look like after washing (I've had a similar jacket). However, to rebuttal that - the functionality would not be gone. I think my main decision maker was that the neck was too tight for me when zipped all the way up, and I wished the arms were a tad bit longer. Those are personal preferences, so you may want to weight what others say below, with mine, and then what you are looking for. I did not notice a huge difference between the small and medium. But could tell a difference of look. Quality product.

    Toasty!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This jacket looks so cool! It has a slim fit, but I normally wear a medium and I feel this was true to size (5'7" and 140 lbs). I agree it does shed initially. It is so warm and such a great layering piece, especially for skiing and climbing. And it doesn't hurt that the colors are so cool! I would recommend this jacket for technical reasons and style! The chest pocket is super convenient, and I love the warmth of the high zip neck. I also wear it to get to the bus stop in the city :)

    warm and great fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

This is the warmest fleece I have ever owned and an overall great fit (5'9/ 170- size large). Great by itself or as a base layer. Only con is that it does seem to shed a bit initially.

    Plush

I love everything about this sweater. The thickness is so cozy and warm for a plethora of activities. Norrona runs large in tops so I opt for one size smaller. Its a must buy if you like comfort, warmth, and flattering shape.

    Warm 2 Is right! WOW

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

This is incredibly warm! I was shocked at just how warm it is honestly. I had originally ordered it to function as a chilly evening whenever fleece. It is really warm, maybe too warm for summer nights, however will be perfect on spring nights into fall! Cant wait to take it to the mountains this summer to test it out! The only thing, which is true for all fleece, is the wind cuts through this bad boy!

    To The Point....DITTO!

New to Norrona...O.M.G...when I think of how much $$$ I've virtually wasted on other "wanna-b's"!

Without being too redundant (everyone is spot on about this awesome fleece); fit is fab, and I was pleasantly surprised on the flattering fit and just the right bit of stretch, allowing for excellent movement, etc. Love the drop 'tail', so to speak, covering your bottom a bit...more so than other's.

Love the longer arms, too (I'm only 5'6", but many jackets, etc fall short, so to speak). Gloves are easily worn with or without the wrist 'gaiters...with the stretch ability of this fleece, you can simply move the bottom of the sleeves up a tad to accommodate any gloves.

Am wearing as both a mid. layer, and for work, where when it gets busy, we often have to wear winter coats...indoors, plus we're not allowed "hoodies" (hard to find a really warm fleece that doesn't have a hood! So this will definitely help...don't have to bulk up, as this has kept me warm enough...yea!

And the feel: sort of like putting on a cuddly, soft teddy bear (but in no way do you look like one)!

And finally, love the little *Viking dude...kind of reminds me of one of my ol' boyfriends!

Looking forward to expanding my winter wardrobe which will definitely encompass *NORRONA!

I am a tall and skinny person with long arms. Does anyone with similar body features know if this jacket accommodates a thin waist/chest, but a long torso and arms?
