The fattest of Nordica's all-mountain lineup and the fairer version of the men's Vagabond, the Women's Wildfire Ski cuts a little weight with a women's specific wi-Core but keeps its freeride power, like a woman's ski should. This fatty features a rockered tip and tail and a nice, wide tip for float in deep or cruddy snow. The wood core with PU foam stringers give it a smooth ride that never feels burdensome; it's lively in pow and stable on hardpack. The tapered tail releases easily to prevent wash-outs or lag with a grabby feel. Snaking through bumps or trees, you'll appreciate the traditional camber that rebounds with energy and delivers powerful edgehold. Edge-to-edge quickness is impressive for a mid-fat waist, thanks to fiberglass reinforcement and torsional rigidity. And a large-radius sidecut means this ski motors down steep chutes or open faces with ease. Sometimes things come together and just click, or burn up in a blaze of glory.
