Description

A women-specific high-performance boot that takes today's modern wide skis by the reins.

The Nordica Women's Firearrow F3 Ski Boot takes your big wide ski and shows it who's boss. Its new shell design supplies increased lateral stiffness and offers better control with today's wider skis, while the Firearrow's 105 progressive flex index allows quick transition from one turn to the next. EDT technology also delivers more power to the skis with less energy so you're able to efficiently lay high-speed turns down fresh corduroy and whip your skis down a steep bump run with ease.

  • A 105 flex (a 14 rating according to the Dynamic Performance Code) offers a solid, high-performance ski boot that's eager to dive into turns, carve up groomers, and make big sweeping arcs down wide-open bowls
  • Progressive flex is easy and reactive in neutral position and allows stiffness to increase as you flex for a deeper, more increased transmission of power to the ski
  • Upper shell mechanism is adjustable to provide higher or lower progression (progression is the degree to which the stiffness increases through the range of the flex pattern)
  • High rebound rate enables you to transition from one turn to the next quickly
  • A 100mm medium last for a versatile fit
  • New shell design offers increased lateral stiffness and better control with today's wider skis
  • EDT technology features a carbon-reinforced bootboard that's attached directly to the shell to provide more power to the ski with less energy, increase boot's torsional stiffness by up to 50%, supply sharper turns, and give more inclination
  • PFP performance women's liner furnishes a women-specific fit, comfort, and insulation
  • Three micro-adjustable ALU ServoLock buckles and power strap give a custom secure fit
  • 45° instep retention furnishes maximum heel retention, forefoot comfort and thermal insulation, and easy entry and exit regardless of the temperature
  • Double canting enables you to dial in your stance
  • High-performance hinge is located high up on the shell and further back to allow for precise energy transmission and rebound
  • High-traction rubber toe and heel equips you with solid traction when you walk on hard surfaces, rocks, and anywhere you may need additional traction

I have last year's version of this boot, still using it.
I've probably logged near 200 days on this boot, it's definitely near the end of it's lifespan, but it's served me very well in the last 2 winters. I don't prefer a crazy stiff/racer style fit, so I think this offers a nice compromise between flex and fit without totally sacrificing circulation. I found them fairly comfortable (still have to unbuckle them sometimes between runs) but the performance is great. I like that they aren't mushy! I like to ride fast, groomers, powder cliffs, steeps and these boots permit me to do it all. I'm actually saving up for the F2 next, a slightly stiffer version of this boot.

I wear a street shoe 6.5 and opted for the 23.5 in these boots.
Because they have packed out quite a bit, I am going to be trying a 22.5 for the next go round.

This review is long but informative to anyone looking to purchase the size 22.5 boot. Here's my backstory:

I have been rocking the Nordica Heartbreakers in a size 23.5 for the last two seasons and have loved them (115 progressive flex, vibram soles, freeride footbed, durable buckles)! The only issue, is that they became a bit big for my foot over time. I love them so I made it work. I compensated by wearing thicker socks filling in the dead space etc. I was really excited this season when I saw that Nordica was introducing 22.5 sizing in their high end ladies boots. hooray! A performance fit at last! I bought them as soon as I could and just last week they arrived. Like a kid on Christmas I ripped open the box and threw them on my feet, ready for the new boot numb feeling that would set in that we all have a love hate relationship with. It never came. To my dismay I saw that the shell was a 23.5, still thinking there was and error I checked the liner, only to see it was a a 23.5 as well. But the sticker was a 22.5! There must be something wrong. I proceeded to call Nordica the next day, and to my extreme dissapointement, I found out they do not make a 22.5 shell or liner for their small footed ladies, they only add thickness here and there to the 23/23.5 and advertise it as a 22.5.

To conclude, I am severely dissapointed in the fact that Nordica does not offer a true 22.5 boot for ladies. So ladies that are a 22.5, do not buy this boot, you will receive a 23.5 with a 22.5 sticker.

This all said, if boot fit me correctly, it would be an amazing ladies boot! So many features and great materials. slightly softer than my Heartbreaker but recommended for a lady that likes to rip.
