BSB 9 RDO Cyclocross Frameset - 2015

Blood, sweat, and beers is the chant of cyclocross fans, and riders, the world over, and Niner fully embraced this sentiment in its BSB 9 RDO Cyclocross Frameset. Niner, who is well known for its 29er platform, took its carbon prowess and moved into the cyclocross market, creating a frame that won’t let you hide in the crowd. The RDO carbon frame, taking its cue from the Niner Air 9 RDO mountain bike, was designed using extensive computer analysis, lab testing and good old down and dirty on-the-road testing to ensure a product that would be at the front of the pack. It features a fairly aggressive geometry, with a steep head tube and seat tube angles, a high bottom bracket for maximum clearance and short seatstays. It features a thru-axle front fork that largely draws from the RDO mountain fork.

Beyond the geometry, the frame itself uses Niner’s Carbon Compaction System, CCS, to ensure the maximum strength from every strand of carbon while eliminating unnecessary material. This is achieved by using rigid interior molds so that the carbon and resin are "pressed" from the inside and out. Not that you’ll ever shear a tube in half, but this process also makes the aesthetics of the inside surface of the tubing as clean as the exterior. This frame design results in a stiff platform with a bit of vertical compliance for all your cyclocross endeavors. The BSB is designed for disc brakes only and a 68mm PF30 bottom bracket. It is compatible with both mechanical and electronic groupsets.
