It uses an Abzorb Crash Pad midsole with plenty of Acteva Lite foam and a medial post to take the sting out of your steps, but the N2 low-profile technology gives the 1260v4 a surprisingly sleek look for such a comfortable shoe. An asymmetrical heel counter keeps the back of your foot from sliding around, while the 8mm drop encourages a natural heel-to-forefoot rolling motion to reduce fatigue and increase psych. You can't forget the cool, seamless Fantom Fit mesh and synthetic upper or the grippy blown rubber outsole, either—New Balance didn't.
