Sleeping in the innovative Riff 15 Sleeping Bag by NEMO Equipment Inc. gives the comfortable space we need to get a good night's rest. This bag's self-proclaimed Spoon shape design gives more room in the shoulders, elbows, and knees so we can sleep on our sides or go back and forth all night. A waterproof footbox and water-resistant hydrophobic down insulation protect from tent walls lined with rain or condensation. If we put on too many layers before bed, we can unzip the Thermo Gills to release heat without letting in cold air. The conveniently integrated pillow-pocket stuffs extra clothes to make a pillow-on-the-go, while the external draft collar retains heat with a tucked-in feeling.

Glad I bought it - good bag
Near perfect. It's the best sleeping bag I've ever owned, and it's not the most expensive. Packs small, is super light, and is the most ergonomical 've ever had. But I do have a quibble (not a complaint) - the gills don't release as much heat as I'd like. I'd like some mesh there, as bag holds much more heat than you'd expect it to. Male. 6' 200lbs

Great purchase
Worked out great in the very cold Idaho mountains. Very easy to use. Zipper does not get caught up. Vents are handy when it gets too hot.

Another Perfect Sleeping Bag by Nemo
I have used Nemo bags for all of my backpacking for the past few years and they never disappoint. Super warm, with great construction and cuts that allow movement without letting the warmth escape. I love the ventilation slits (thermo gill vents) to add that little bit of airflow - very important for me since I run so hot. It lets me adjust temp throughout the night to stay comfortable.

Perfect for backpacking! Almost…
I loved this bag about 98%, it was warm, it was light, it was packable and overall was an absolutely fantastic bag to use for my trip through the Teton Crest Trail. I just have two complaints… I’m a super Nemo fanboy! I have the Hornet UL tent, a quasar insulated pad, the Riff, and the Fillow, all of which I love. But the Riff falls short in two areas. When I put my pillow in the respective pillow pocket, I feel like it limits my ability to use the hood on really cold nights, rendering the pocket kinda useless since I have to end up taking out the pillow so I can cinch up the hood nice and tight. And the other is the cell phone pocket. I have an iPhone 14pro. Not the MAX, and the phone pocket BARELY zips up to fit it. I was hoping I could keep at least my two essentials (phone and insulin) but alas I have to be selective, but I need them both for proper diabetes management (CGM sends readings to my phone). Other than that, I loved everything about the bag in terms of sizing, comfort, feel against the skin, packability and weight. Just wish I could fit a bit more in that pocket so it’s not just floating around in my bag getting crushed when I roll onto it, and a better design for the pillow pocket (maybe I have the wrong pillow????)

yes yes yes - very comfortable
Love this bag so much. Biggest problem is I usually don't want to get out of it :) I find packability on the 15 degree very good considering the temperature rating and have used on multiple bikepacking trips. I haven't tested it down to it's limit yet but have found it to be very comfortable at around 20 degrees. The thermogills are a nice touch when things are on the warmer side. Very happy so far!!

I own an older Nemo Riff 30° bag whose shape I prefer to mummy bags. Bought the 15° Riff bag for September trip to Yellowstone. Six nights in the back country with comfortable sleeping temperatures between 23° and 40°, wearing T-shirt and long underwear. Good comfort for side sleeping and movement overnight. Overall excellent for me.

Comfortable design with good breathability and packability. Wide foot box is awesome. Would buy again.

Warm nights sleep anywhere in the country
I purchased via rei. I have deployed this sleeping bac (15 degree) from Virginia to Oregon and back. High quality with a spot for your phone and some zippers to adjust temperature in case it gets too hot inside. It's a 1 person mummy style so you can completely cover your face. You can also stuff a hiker style pillow inside. I'm a side sleeper.

Burrrrr
Rated for 15° and I would call that a survival temp, and just barely. I took the bag down to 28° on a nemo quasar pad in a well vented tent and I was definitely cold. I had to grab my silk liner and fill the bag with spare layers to fill the cold spots. This spoon shape design is maximum comfort for sleeping, but you sacrifice that space for cold spots. There’s just too much room in the foot box and knee area IMO. I’m glad I didn’t get the “classic spoon” shape with the disco. All that said, this is a great bag for 40° and warmer. Cold temp expose the design flaws in the spoon unfortunately. PS- still love NEMO!

Side Sleepers Rejoice!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought this bag in 2018 and it has been awesome! I am 6?1 and bought a long and length wise, it?s plenty. I have fairly broad shoulders so it?s just a little snug there but nothing I really think about when I crawl in for a good night?s sleep. Overall, for a down bag, it is a little on the heavier side for a 15 degree but I do not mind a little extra weight for the benefits. I can say that it is super warm and have had it in the mid-twenties?no problems. This is mainly a spring/fall bag for me. Too warm for summer and am quilting it now for that time of year. The gills actually do vent quite a bit but not a ton. If I got too warm, I mainly would just open the bag. The big benefit is the shape for me. As a side sleeper, I hate mummy bags! This things allows me to toss and turn with ease and when I do land on my side, I do not feel constricted. The bag does compress down very nice for it?s size due to the 800 fill and is more durable than I anticipated. Has been stuffed and unstuffed quite a bit and it?s holding up really well. Overall, if the time ever comes, I would buy this bag again.

I have a Riff 15 long. Which insulated sleeping pad best fits inside of it?
May 20, 2021
I'm 5'11 and I don't like when sleeping pads are too short. I like to have more space than usual. Should I take the long size or is the regular one ok? I'm also hesitating cause of the geat regular specs (better compression and weight). Thanks!

I have a men’s Riff bag, will the women’s Disco bag zip together with it?
March 18, 2021
Hi. Do the Riff 15 and the Disco have baffle construction? I have a Disco I bought in 2019 & the down is now very thin in the waist area while the foot box has lots of down - wondering if that has shifted and if Riff will too?
