The Apex 100 Backpack is Mountainsmith's largest pack for anything from full-on expeditions to family backpacking trips. It features X-crossing aluminum stays with a horizontal bar to ensure stability with loads as heavy as 70 pounds, and Anvil Airway's EVA padding provides plenty of cush as well as ventilated airflow. Mountainsmith's TuningFork waistbelt wraps comfy foam firmly around your hips, and it adjusts vertically and horizontally to ensure a proper fit.
The Apex is a traditional top loader with an additional front panel access for easy packing and easier unpacking. There's a bottom compartment for sleeping bags, and an internal divider to separate the pad from the rest of your gear. Mountainsmith also added an internal sleeve for your hydration reservoir, side pockets for water bottles, a front pocket for easy-to-grab layers, and zippered waist belt pockets sized for smartphones.
