Why We Like The Yumalino Pant

When the trees are bare and the air starts to bite, we pull on the Yumalino Pant to keep warm on our commute. The fleece-lined material feels buttery against our skin as it protects us from frigid temps and icy gusts, while the 4-way stretch gives our stride free range to sprint for the tram.

Great cold weather pant

I bought these earlier this month for casual wear while dog walking and shoveling snow. I have found them to be quite warm. Tonight the temperature was -3 C, feeling like - 11, with winds between 29 - 43 Kph. I wore them without a base layer and was still quite warm after 30 minutes. They are very comfortable, as well. Very Happy with the purchase. Normally wear large, went up to XL in these pants.

Very comfy but tighter than last time

One of my favorite winter pants. The new version fits a bit tighter than the older version, but still a great warm options with just enough stretch.

No bottom hem cinch

I purchased the size 31 in the Yumalino Pant after I returned the Yumalino Active Pant because the size small was too snug in the waist. I wear a size 30 in the Basin Trek Pant/Short. The pant fit great, very comfortable lined stretch material and seemed to be of good quality. I was very disappointed when I realized the pant did NOT have the bottom hem cinch as described in the product details. Without an adjustable hem, cold air will flow in when outdoors. I have another brand of lined pant without a hem cinch, and this is why I was purchasing the Yumalino.

Literally, seams weak. (Get it?!?)

Seams on front pocket trim seem to be blowing out already from just one use car camping. Maybe don't put hands in me pockets??? Definitely comfortable and warm. Seems to shed light rain and trail brush water well enough. The fleece lining slides about and bunches up, making it a bit of a fuss getting them on/off. Seems like fleece lining should be stitched to outer shell fabric at more points. I don't buy much nerdy tech hiking gear (let alone write reviews), as it's usually too expensive for my wallet. I'm always eyeballing discounted products and have never bought anything not "on sale". Mtn Hardwear products seem pretty tip top usually but, not roll round in dirt quality as of lately. Their earlier stuff made in the States were of seemingly better quality. Still getting use of some (parbat jacket, in which zipper recently failed). Would not pay over 40buck for these pants. I'll go back to a base layer and a more durable shell pant after these blow out completely. Admittedly, sometimes a good pair of jeans are all you need for camping, unless it's raining. These are more casual, mellow camping pants. They'll do for the 60buck I paid for them. Definitely not worth the 85buck selling at Mtn Hardwear site. In the end they're not terrible, I just want to see my nerd gear hold up better on the few outings I'm allowed a year. We'll see how they hold up the rest of the way. I will continue seeking out some good "on sale" Mtn Hardwear gear.

Used to be good but style changed and now... meh

These used to be good now they aren't. I wrote a review 3 years ago raving about these pants. They've completely changed the style - different sizing, slimmer leg and fit - leg pocket changed. Ordered same size as I'm wearing right now and they dont fit AT ALL - I have 5 pairs of these - 3 of them just 3 years old . Tried to order last year but none in stock. The old style are my all time favourite pants and I would recommend them to everyone. At least 6 people I know bought them on my referral. Now I can't refer these anymore and I have to find a new product to replace them. Too bad you had to "improve" a product that didn't need it. You shoulda just made a new pant line instead of trying to cut corners and replace with this poor imitation.

Not the quality I expected

I bought these pants based on the Mountain Hardware reputation for quality. I have been let down. While these are extremely nice pants and do well hiking, I was surprised when the lining in the crotch split and the back pocket completely blew out at the seams. All this within less than a month. I expected more from the Mountain Hardware brand.
