    Packed and ready.

If the weather cools down grab your Mountain Hardwear Microchill Fleece Jacket and tell Old Man Winter to go fleece himself. Cush microfleece keeps you comfortable in the chill, and zippered hand-warmer pockets prove useful when gloves didn’t make the pack list. Dual hem drawcords allow for simple adjustment so you get the most natural fit while trekking through the mountains. There's even a micro-chamois-lined chin guard to avoid the irritation cause by most zippers.

    Mountain Hardwear Microchill Fleece Zip

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit:Runs large
    • Size Bought: XL

I'm 6.2" relatively slim (1902 lb). I bought XL size, the only size available for Redwood dark red color. The fleece fits me Ok, but the lower part of this top around my waist is too volumous. I do not think that down-sizing to L will fix the design problem. With other word the style is not great and since it misses the tightening cord down. So, I'll give it less stars. There a lot of better looking fleece pullovers out there.

Runs a little loose in the torso

    • Fit:Runs large
    • Size Bought: XL

This is a nice, lightish fleece. It runs a little loose in the torso and the sleeves are perhaps tiny bit shorter than average. It's warm for being thin. Good warmth to bulk ratio. It's good for some added insulation without getting bulky. It can handle a t-shit and a tight long sleeve underlayer. Good for under a rainshell or wind breaker. Comfortable.

Does all that it needs to.

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

I purchased this jacket from a Mountain Hardwear shop here Iin Japan where I live to be used between my base layer and shell for resort skiing. It's described as a light weight, soft fleece and that is exactly what this jacket is. The small fits me wonderfully: sits right at the waist, sleeves go just to my wrist, and the chest and pits have the perfect amount of room for my baselayer.

The fleece is very soft and surprisingly warm for how amazingly soft it is. I often wear this jacket under my ghost whisperer in below 40 degree temps and can stay warm no problem. I highly suggest this fleece jacket.

    Perfect for what I wanted

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

This is just what I was looking for--a lightweight fleece jacket that could be worn as a sweater inside and a jacket outside. Living in Minnesota, I have found that it's warm enough to wear on mild winter days running errands and I stay comfortably warm inside without overheating. So far, so good!

    Good Layer

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit:True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

Very soft and warm for how light weight it is. It is very comfortable to wear to the shops or on a mild day. The sleeves are a little on the short side, but I usually wear it under a rain coat or my Atom, so that isn't a problem. I also think that it is a little big around the belly, but it is a regular fit jacket. I am worried about piling, just having a seat belt rub against it for a short car ride left a good amount of fleece on the belt.

    Functional

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:Runs large

Pretty thin but functional fleece. Very breathable. Wore it as a layer when it got really cold skiing and was a nice addition to the lineup in that it provided a very functional layer to add warmth without bulk. Not something you're wearing solo on a windy or cold day, but don't think that's what it was designed for. Sale price is a good buy, but the full retail is a bit high for the value.

    Love Mountain Hardwear but.....

    • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    • Fit:Runs small

I love Mountain Hardwear gear but unfortunately this had to be returned. The jacket runs a bit small. My NF fleece jacket is a XXL and fits comfortable but this MH fleece ended up a bit tight. Also the colors represented do not match the product. I ordered the Sherwood and it shows silver embroidery on the name and bolt, but when I received it the embroidery was a lighter green which blended into the color of the jacket and did not "pop" as much as the silver, which I prefer. I do not like when companies use a lighter embroidery for their name and designs that matches the color of the product. I have seen Columbia do this and have never liked it. The picture definitely needs to be updated on the BC website.

I have a couple of TNF jackets that have embroidered logos that are the same color as the fabric so that you don't really even see it unless you are face-to-face, which i really appreciate. in such an ad-rich culture as ours i like to see a little subtlety. Or better yet minimalism. ;-)
