In the soggy climes and big storms of the Pacific Northwest, your positive thoughts and good attitude won't actually keep you dry and warm. Millet's Crystal Mountain GTX Men's Jacket will, though, so you can ride through soggy storms and overhead powder without worrying about ending up soggier than cereal that's been floating in the bowl too long. Balancing waterproofing and breathability is paramount, especially when you hit the backcountry, so Millet constructed the Crystal Mountain from Kanto softshell, a breathable but tough fabric, and decked it out with a waterproof and breathable 3L Gore-Tex membrane that will keep you dry in the foulest mountain weather.
The seams are fully taped for extra protection, and the elastic powder skirt works in tandem with Millet ski pants to form a stormproof barrier that keeps your skivvies dry. If you work up a sweat on the skintrack, zip open the Crystal Mountain's underarm vents and slide the elastic internal cuffs up your forearms to lower the temperature a few degrees. When the storm rolls back in, flip the drawcord hood up over your helmet for full protection, cinch down the hook-and-loop cuffs, and make short work of steep, deep, and legendary descents.
