I am new to climbing, and have used this chalk in the gym and outside. Works great and don't need a whole lot of it either, barely made a dent in the bag in a couple of months
My favorite

For consistency and drying ability, this is the best chalk I've used. It isn't such a small grain that it floats like flour out of your bag, and it drys extremely well. Infact there have been times when I restart using it after not climbing for a few months and my hands aren't used to it and it will crack the skin. You can cut it with a little bit of other chalk or just wash your hands with moisturizing soap.

It does the trick. I enjoy that it's a mix of powder and some chunks- I like it a million times more than chalk balls, which never seem to get you what you need. I'm definitely going to continue with this stuff!

It's good chalk. I like the powder more than the blocks. It's just easier

Works great, dries out hands easily and I feel like I don't have to keep re-applying as often.

I've used a couple different types of chalk, ranging from brick chalk to liquid chalk to mammut chalk to black diamond chalk. The Metolius Super Chalk definitely performs well as do all the other brands of chalk I've used.

Works as intended.Keeps your hands super dry. On hard climbs on hot days this will keep your hands sticky.

My hands sweat a lot, especially doing bouldering problems in the gym. This chalk fixes that very well. Therefore, I keep using it and buying more when I run out. It is my favourite chalk.

Dries out the hands more drastically than other brands could be a problem with long term use but on the sharp end it is exactly what you need.

It's good chalk - get a big bag so you don't have to worry about running out for a while.

But this stuff keeps them super dry and me on the boulders. Does the job perfectly.

This stuff is the best compromise between drying agent to chalk mixture I've found thus far. But like Steph said it's related to your level of sweaty hands. Which for someone like me who's always scared is pretty sweaty.
Not for me

My hands get pretty sweaty, so this stuff is great, but I prefer regular old chalk. The drying agent just destroys my skin, and the price is a little higher.

I haven't noticed any problems, therefore it is good chalk. In the end chalk is chalk
not good.

I really dislike this chalk, it has no tooth to it and i have to re-apply constantly more than with other chalks. I don't know what happened to metolius chalk it used to be so good before they re-design their packaging. new formula maybe?
mmm friction. .

I sweat like a mo-fo and this stuff helps in ways I can't describe. I coat my whole hand in this chalk, then i'm good to go. Keeps my pores from throwing up all over the wall at least.
I have one annoyance with it, If i'm sweating especially bad or if it is especially humid outside, it tends to absorb the moisture so well that it'll clump and simply flake off your hands (but your hand will be dry!). All that it takes is a little reapplication and you're good to go for some added friction. Really does absorb moisture, and doesn't leave my hands dry and cracked afterwords.
I'll be using this chalk till the end of time, or this in a mix ;)

This chalk has a drying agent in it, so it's great for people who tend to sweat a lot, like me. I'm addicted to this stuff, and feel like I'm slipping off holds if I use regular block chalk now. My best friend has very dry skin, and she doesn't like this chalk because it actually makes her hands too dry (hard for me to relate to). So if you grease off holds a lot, don't have dry skin and/or live in a humid climate, you will probably notice good results with this.

Chalk is chalk and it helps to absorb your sweat so you can grip the rock. This is my preferred chalk choice though because of the price!
