Aksium One Disc Wheelset

Entering the world of disc brakes doesn't need to be cost prohibitive. Case in point, the Mavic Aksium One Disc Wheelset offers durability and disc-optimized construction without the premium price tag of other disc-specific wheelsets. The Aksium One Disc Wheelset allows you to test the disc brake waters on your road or 'cross bike, also working great as a second wheelset for your disc-equipped training bike.

Its disc-optimized rim profile, spoke geometry, and lacing pattern handle the extra stopping force exerted by disc brakes. Its wider sleeve rim is not only stronger than the more basic, pin-type rim used on the standard Mavic One Wheelset, but it's also lighter, without the need for machined sidewalls, giving it a stealth aesthetic. These sleeve-type rims accommodate tires up to 52mm wide.

Note that this wheelset comes with BR101 quick-releases and rim strips. They can accommodate 15mm thru-axles, should you need extra stiffness, and come with either a Shimano/SRAM or Campagnolo-compatible freehub body. 6-bolt and Centerlock rotor mounts are available, with the Centerlock rotor mounts only available on the Shimano/SRAM-compatible model.
