Stay completely warm while you walk across town in frigid temperatures, and don't worry if a few snow flurries start to fall.

Those frigid walks into town and annoyingly cold drives to work aren't a problem for you anymore thanks to the Marmot Women's Montreal Down Coat. The 700-fill down insulation works its heat magic while making sure the jacket feels light as a feather on your torso, and Marmot's proprietary Down Defender treatment resists water so the down won't lose it's warmth due to just a few snow flurries. The polyester shell has a DWR coating that also resists water. A plush lining slides over your work attire like a glove, and it feels so soft against your skin that you'll wish you could work in this coat all day.

The Montreal's insulated hood keeps your head nice and toasty so you don't have to squish your hair down with a beanie, and you can remove both the hood and its fur ruff when you don't need them. Marmot lined the internal cuffs with micro fleece, and the front pockets also have micro fleece for extra hand coziness. The internal zippered pocket stores small items like lip balm while the drop pocket holds all your bigger items like your gloves, beanie, or phone.

If I normally wear a medium, would a large look too bulky on me? I'm 5'4", 120lbs. I really want this jacket but can't find it anywhere in medium.

Responded on

I would not suggest getting a large. Based on your size it will be too big, and definitely look bulky.

it is true to size, but a little bit tight in chest.

Super warm and comfy!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Just moved to Minnesota from Tennessee. Needless to say this southern girl was in for a surprise, as it has been below zero many of the mornings I've gone to work. This coat has been great and kept me very warm! Even today when it was 20 below! It's also not too hot when I'm wearing it indoors on my way out, like some other winter jackets I've tried. The only thing I have somewhat negative to say is that it is not wind-proof nor water proof. But for the most part that has not been an issue. I love this parka!

Excellent coat!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought one for my mom as she was complaining to get cold easily. It's the warmest coat in the market for the money - 700 down index. It's super light and warm, very comfy. After that i bought a Marmot Montreaux model for myself. They are identical for the exception of the length - Montreal is approx. 6 in shorter. Happy with it. It's true to size though a bit snug.

Not too long or too short. Excellent craftsmenship.
We got black. The color is perfect, not shiny and plastic looking.

I love this coat -- it's a great length in that it covers my rear end but isn't too long. The hood is great: covers my head and ears to keep them warm, but doesn't fall off my head or over my eyes. Still waiting for the super cold weather -- but it survived the first snow and kept me very warm!

I'm 5'8", 150 and have a Small. It's fitted but I still have plenty of room to move around and to wear sweaters underneath.

This exceeded my expectations but I shouldn't expect anything less from Marmot. The coat is lovely, warm and stylish and just the right length. I was really impressed how snug and great fitting the hood was, not super big and baggy and just falls off your head like some coats. With the howling winter winds that's going to be a great feature. I'm 5'5 and 155 and I got the size Large for a little more wiggle room but I could have pulled off the Medium.

Great looking jacket!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Have gained some and none of my jackets fitting! I'm 5'2" 173lb and none of the xl I tried on fit. So glad I found an xxl, it fits great, is not bulky and the aubergine color is beautiful! I only wish they'd make the Marmot Jena Down jackets in a xxl so I could have a short jacket also.

Good Cold Weather Coat

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I purchased this coat for cold Billings, Montana winters. I wore mine the other week when we had our first snow and cold weather of the season. Low temperature was 17 degrees with winds at 20 mph. The coat kept me toasty warm. The temperature range will get below zero in this region and the coat will do its job. I am 509/185, so I got the XXL. My other Marmot jackets are XL, but I wanted to make sure I has plenty of spare room for winter layering. The length sits about half way down my thigh. The cost is cut to allow a good range of movement in the arm/shoulder area. It has a classy look and is just right for the workplace.
If you live in cold weather areas, give this classic a try.

My cold weather is -40 with the windchill. What different brand name jackets can you recommend? Canada Goose is a given, would like to know what else would work well.
