Laugh in the face of long miles and cold, wet nights when you're carrying the Marmot Cloudbreak 20 Sleeping Bag in your backpack. Two types of ultralight synthetic insulation give this sleeping bag a 20-degree temperature rating, a weight of just under three pounds, and the unique ability to retain warmth even when wet. Marmot's engineers used 'anchors' of Thermal R Micro to add insulation at your feet and core, while the basic Thermal R insulation takes care of everything else from your ankles to waist and from your shoulders to head. Other features include a shell with a water-resistant coating, a hood designed for maximum heat retention and comfort, and unique baffles that utilize a shingle-like structure to eliminate cold spots inside. Aside from the more recreational-style Maverick or Rockaway sleeping bags, the Cloudbreak is the only 20-degree sleeping bag in Marmot's entire lineup (the standard temperature degree ratings are 0, 15, and 30). This sleeping bag is ideal for backpackers who want a lightweight, three-season synthetic sleeping bag solution or wet-weather campers who need something cooler than a 15-degree sleeping bag and who would rather not make the leap all the way up to 30 degrees.
Details
- The Cloudbreak is ideal for late spring, summer, and early fall backpacking or camping in dry to mild climates
- EN rating is 32F for the lower limit (an average man’s comfort level) and 21F for the comfort range (average woman’s comfort level)
- Contoured mummy shape minimizes heat loss at the head and feet while giving you room to move around at the shoulders
- DWR coating allows the shell to repel light moisture and precipitation so your sleeping bag and insulation stay dry
- Nylon ripstop and nylon plain weave materials make the shell and lining durable, lightweight, and highly compressible
- Hybrid insulation technology combines loft advantage of 2.5-denier Thermal R insulation with the packability of 1-denier Thermal R Micro
- Hybrid insulation provides massive warmth without the weight or size penalty that would otherwise come with this amount of insulation
- Shingle Wave Construction uses a series diagonal baffles to 'stack' insulation from head to toe (like shingles on a house) and to control cold spots in the event of insulation migration
- Body-mapped, Thermal R Micro insulation 'anchors' are located closer to your feet and core to provide additional insulation precisely where you need it the most
- 3D Hood construction matches the natural contour of your head and neck, provides ample room for your face, and maximizes heat retention with minimal bulk
- Full-length zipper makes entry and exit easier than ever, and it allows you to vent at the feet if you get a little too hot at night
- Snagless Zipper Tube blocks drafts from forming at the zipper and uses a design that won't get constantly caught in the full-length zipper
- Face muff keeps your face warm at night while still giving you room to breathe freely, additionally this face muff is free of the hook-and-loop closure that so often rubs against your face and causes discomfort
