The key features of this LuminAID lantern versus some of their less expensive lanterns, like the Spectra, are locked behind an app that is not available for current versions of Android or iOS. Creating lighting groups, setting lighting schedules, granular color and brightness control, and remote operation are not available without the app. The company's customer support, while responsive, cannot provide a definitive timeline for the app to receive an update. The current versions of Android and iOS were released in August 2022 and September 2022 respectively... Without the app, you can cycle through a few colors but cannot adjust the brightness. The hardware is fine, but i will be returning the Bloomio's and checking that their app works before purchasing any more bluetooth devices from LuminAID. I look forward to reordering and using these lanterns once their advertised features are available.
