Transform your bike into a creature of the night.

Ride the trail or the street all night without emptying your checking account. The Lezyne Power Drive XL Bicycle Headlight has plenty of power for backcountry stealth missions or just making yourself very well-known in traffic.

The most obvious difference between the Power Drive XL and other lights is the CNC-machined aluminum body. In the event that you take a spill (not hard to do on a trail at night), the Power Drive can handle it. The machined aluminum body also dissipates heat, which can damage Li-ion batteries over time. It also looks good. You'll downplay the importance of style, but let's face it–you don't want to hang some cheap, plastic gumball-machine headlight on your carbon race machine. The Power Drive is sporting a redesigned power button that increases the headlight's water- and weather-resistance. The new power button hides the green and red LED's that allow you to monitor battery level without losing a pedal stroke. When the headlight is on, the indicator (located on top of the light housing) will be either green, red, or flashing red to indicate power level.

Lezyne’s Infinite Light feature is another unique innovation that adds versatility and usability for endurance riders, 24-hour racers, or anyone planning to outride the battery’s burn time. If you burn out your battery, just pop it out and slide in a fully charged Li-ion. It sounds simple but it’s a rare feature among trail lights and it allows you to ride as long as you want, depending on the number of backup-batteries you decide to carry.

Another performance-enhancing innovation is Lezyne's Constant Current technology. Constant Current delivers even and constant lumen output over the entire life of the battery without dimming or fading out as the battery loses charge. This feature increases efficiency to allow the Power Drive to burn brighter, longer. The Power Drive is also equipped with Lezyne's Maximum Optical Reflection one-piece internal reflection technology. The result is a light with fewer parts and a smoother, wider Uniform Power Beam.

The Power Drive has three modes: Blast (400 lumens), Enduro (250 lumens), and Economy (125 lumens). The battery is good for 2 hours, 3 hours, and 5.5 hours in each mode, respectively. Lezyne's side visibility technology makes the Power Drive visible from 180 degrees at night without illuminating your handlebars, which can be distracting. It includes Li-ion, rechargeable 18650 batteries and a USB charger, and a nylon handlebar mount.

The Lezyne Power Drive XL Bicycle Headlight comes in Black or Silver and is compatible with 31.8mm or 25.4mm road or mountain handlebars.

Great light

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this light all the time. It has a great beam spread, wide enough to cover the entire rail trail and when aimed properly I can clearly see 50+ feet. The only complaint I have is the thumbscrew is too close to the handlebars to easily adjust it- my fingers can't get a good grip on it, so if you need to make a mid-ride adjustment, a stop is pretty much necessary.

Great light!

If I knew this was such a great light I would buy it way sooner and stopped wasting money on cheaper ones. I can actually see the road in front of me (eventhough NYC is quite lighten up, but there are still spots in the city where you don't have street lights at all and that's where this comes in handy)
Yes, the price is little bit high but I'm really hoping this light will last for few upcoming riding years, at least.

great light, especially when on sale

Missing in the description is the flashing mode. This is a great light for commuting in the dark, and I use the flashing mode in the daytime for visibility. Some cars use daytime running lights, right? Charging does take quite a while.

Excellent for night riding in the woods, mostly single track. Primarily selected Blast mode for high light output, no issues with battery life. The helmet mount was used for increased visibility around corners.
