This big and spacious shelter is by no means lightweight, but it is made with stout materials that will withstand some serious abuse. Its fly and floor are made with a 68-denier polyester fabric, which are treated with a PU coating and have fully taped seams. The walls have no-see-um mesh vents to help keep fresh air circulating through, while two doors and vestibules mean you won't get kneed in the chest when one of your tent mates runs out in the middle of the night to drop trou.

Unique to Kelty's line of Gunnison tents is the awning vestibule that can be propped up with the help of two trekking poles, giving you a place to boil water out of the rain or just relax in the shade. Two sturdy aluminum poles keep the tent up when high winds rip through your camp, while the included footprint ensures that the floor of the tent doesn't wear out too soon. Inside the tent are multiple pockets to keep everyone's gear organized and out of the way.
