Cowboys love rope.

Stash a day's worth of essentials inside the Kavu Women's Rope Bag Purse and cruise town with this fresh-looking messenger bag slung over your shoulder. A rope accent makes the adjustable strap stand out from all the other messenger bags attached to the hipsters on fixies. Dual main pockets separate out your rain jacket from your coffee shop novel and notepad, and dual external zip pockets keep your phone and keys within easy reach. Use and abuse this bag at will, because tough Force 10 canvas shrugs off the bumps and bruises of life in the city.

Me gusto!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This is such a step up from the hang at your hip purse! I said good by to off the shoulder luggage, and hello to a sling that is roomy and forgettable. I can stow so much in this little guy, and keep it right on the center of my back without a second thought to it!

Solid Bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This bag is stylish and versatile for urban commuting (read: urban walking). I appreciate the extra pockets and ergo design. I don't love it for biking though. It slides around on your back unless it is extra tight, which becomes uncomfortable for longer commutes. This is my only complaint though. Everything else is stellar.

So this is good for hiking and walking, not for biking. I'm taking a mountain biking trip- looking for something lightweight and durable.

I can't endorse anything specifically, however.. I would recommend a pack with two straps. They seem to slide less and provide equal weight distribution on your shoulders and back. If you are going for a long ride this might be important for you. Also, having a chest or lumbar strap to provide addition comfort and slide insurance could help you out. Have fun out there!
