It may seem contradictory to say that the big, oversized sole on the Hoka One One Women's Mafate 2 Trail Running Shoe gives you better connection to the ground, but it works. Thanks to the sole's surface area that's twice as large as that on traditional running shoes, the Mafate 2 grips the trail like nothing else and rolls over the gnarliest technical terrain like a tank ... a featherweight tank.

- Rockered midsole and low heel-toe differential (4mm) allows for natural-feeling strides and easier transitions between steps for improved efficiency
- Oversized midsole stabilizes the movement of the foot upon impact to reduce the rate of pronation and supination
- Ultra-lightweight design (10.5oz) means you tire less running uphill
- Speedy downhill performance makes it ideal for adventure racing
- Runs about a half-size smaller than the typical running shoe, so you may want to consider sizing up
