Although I haven't worn this jacket running or biking, I do wear it as a layer when leaving the house on cool or rainy days to walk the dog (he's 15) or take out the trash. I also wear it shoveling the driveway with just a t-shirt underneath and it breaths super well. I gotta take the Barrier on a hike this summer!

Fits long with good coverage. I'm 5'11" 165lbs. got a large and I can fit a light vest under it. Nice light weight, stretchy fabric that packs small and adds a lot of warmth and wind protection. X-C sking the hood can really help. Love it!

It's actually not waterproof OR water resistant. Even a few flicks of water (just from the sink) get absorbed instantly. Nonetheless, it's a nice jacket - just don't count on it to keep you dry on a rainy day.

Was looking for something to wear on long skins that would breathe and not absorb moisture causing me to freeze at the top. Previously tried fleece vest, micro-puff vest, and ex-weight fleece top. No va. The HH Barrier jacket is it. Super spartan - only one pocket, very light and thin - barely more substantial than a light shell. The hood is a bonus, tho. Works perfectly over a midweight top to keep the sweat moving as long as it's exposed to the air. Not only did it keep me warm on the climb, I zipped 'er up and skied cold, north-facing slopes without a hint of cold getting through the dense fabric. So far haven't used it in wet conditions.
