Why We Like The Greys Lance Fly Rod

We like the Greys Lance Fly Rod because it's budget-friendly without compromising on performance. A blast to cast, the fast action helps us punch our flies through the wind while the fly rod punches above its weight in casting performance at this price point. It's offered in a 3-weight through 8-weight to handle everything from native trout in small runs to bass and river-run salmon.

I watched some of the YouTube reviews on this rod that made it sound phenomenal for the price. I have to say I’m pretty underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad rod, but paired with the relatively cheap fly line I am using I am not impressed. I think if I put a premium line on here it would cast a lot better, but then again just about any rod casts well with a high-end line. I will say the rod feel is really good once your line is in the water. I can clearly feel what’s going on at the end of my line which compared to the cheap/old rods I normally use is pretty nice. The grip and hardware all look really nice as well. The grip shape and quality of the cork are good too.
