One dimensional

I wanted a new and improved versatile pack for daily use -work, gym, possibly even day hike. I was unable to see or test fit one in person so I purchased it solely based on my research and the reviews. When I finally received it, I had an initial positive impression of it, i have many Gregory packs and quality is what you would expect. However after using it for a day or two I found it quite one dimensional for use and quite frustrating to actually pack. It has the one large opening with no other access than the top so if you’re packing multiple items it’s hard to see down towards the bottom to tell what you have in the pack. Aside from the small pockets on the inner wall it’s not very great for organization. After being unsatisfied I did some more research and ended up going with the Border 30 and it is amazing. I should’ve went with it in the first place, the clam shell design is 100x better for organizing and better access than this top loading pack. I could go on about the Border being a far superior pack but I’ll leave it at that. To top off my experience from being a regular Gregory customer, I reached out to Customer service and they will not let me return the Rhune after only 2 days of use with the tags still in tact so I’m deterred from buying anything directly though Gregory anymore. Return policy should be amended to allow customers to at least try their packs first to see if what they purchased will work for them instead of being stuck with a product that doesn’t meet their needs.

Awesome Bag

This is a great bag. Super impressed and thinking of buying as holiday gifts for my family next year. There are a lot of pockets and looks sleek and classy.

Great for Travel and Daily Commute

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this bag as my primary work bag -- and it was great during my most recent travel trip. It fit nicely (non-bulky) under the seat in front of me on the plane with no excess straps to get caught on anything. The mesh side pocket is deep and actually held two bottles for me -- without becoming stretched out or squeezing the bottles up and out. I love the easy to access organization pockets behind the front of the bag and on the laptop/notebook specific sections. There's one on the front too AND I discovered another hidden one (to me) on the side. Love when that happens. The top bag opens all the way so I can access everything inside. There is also a pocket on the brain of the bag -- make sure to keep it at least partially zipped so small items don't slide out when you access the main compartment. Lastly (but definitely not least) the zipper to the main compartment is bomb -- so easy to open and close without getting stuck. I also appreciate the size of the grab handle at the top - it's big enough to sling over a chair and actually stay there without sliding off. I got it in the Brick Red, such an awesome color.

Great All Around Bag

Deceptively large, holds a mirrorless camera/tech cube, books, jacket, large water bottle, among other things. Top grab handle is a great design. Comfortable for a bigger framed person, which I feel is hard to find in a typical commuter pack.

Great all around bag!

I’ve been using this bag as my EDC bag. I’ve taking it hiking, traveling and out and about around town. There’s just the right amount of extra compartments and open space in the bag. I recently had a game console, my laptop, a mens xl thick sweater, two water bottles, a bag of dog treats and a retractable dog leash in the bag and it all fit fine in the main compartment. The bag has some great smaller compartments as well which is nice, especially the shoulder strap and key pockets. The zippers, the padding, and the material in general all feel extremely durable but very light weight compared to the camera bags I’m used to carrying. I have back issues and I found the bag to be comfortable for pretty long stretches hiking as long as you don’t have it maxed out with weight. The the only issue I have with the bag is the webbing and plastic buckles, the webbing is very thin and narrow and the buckles are tiny and feel kinda cheap. Considering the rest of the bag seems so tough I don’t know why the webbing and plastic aren't on the same level.

My Beach/School/Travel Bag

This bag is so multi versatile- is use it for EVERYTHING and take it EVERYWHERE. During the week I take it to school and everything is organized perfectly in the compartments inside the bag. My computer slides right in and all my books fit great. On the weekends I throw all my surf stuff inside. The material is great for drying quickly after I put my wet wetsuit and towel in there.

Great Commuter Pack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pack is perfect for my commute to the office! It has many well thought out pockets for organization of all my daily carry items, and quick access stash pockets for my airpods, keys, and sunglasses are super convenient. The size is perfect to bring as my travel bag on the plane, too. Very comfortable bag, and I love that it's made from recycled materials!

perfect commuter and work pack

Got my pack a few weeks ago and been using it for everyday work. Love it! The 25L is perfect for my laptop and work supplies. Top pocket is my spot for phone, wallet, cords, etc. Just took it on a travel trip to New England for a week and was everything I needed. Super comfortable and no back sweat. Would definitely recommend and get it again!

Very useful design and well built

I have been using my Rhune 25 burnt orange backpack for several weeks as a remote work bag. All my computer, tablet, chargers, books, etc… go in the bag and it is ready to go. The top opening is my favorite feature, give me full view of what is in the main compartment and easy access. It is comfortable bag to wear while on a bike, and through an airport. I have replaced my heavy leather bag of 25 years for everyday use.
