G3 Jam Ski - Women's

Venture out beyond the groomers and into the steep chutes, tight trees, and dicey terrain with the G3 Women’s Jam Ski. This confidence-busting mid-fat ski with an early rise tip makes it easy to steer in tight situations, so you don’t sweat the challenging terrain. A wide 95mm-waist gives the Jam a stable platform, and its designed to be responsive and easy to get on edge when you slice turns down groomers and rally it up in the bumps.

Bottom Line: Makes challenging terrain easy to ski.

I'm 5'7" 115lbs tele skier. I'm strugging with the K2 Phat Luv 170cm so looking for an alternative (definitely shorter). I'm an intermediate telemark skier and want a setup I can use both on resort and in the backcountry in BC. Would the 156m be too short or would I be better off with the 166cm?

One other factor to consider. The Jam has an early rise tip. That will shorten your effective edge, making the longer length easier to handle.

That's a tough one. I am a similar height, but heavier (145 or so) and I tend to ski mid 170s and find that to be my sweet spot. I'd guess that 156 would be too short, but you still might find the 166s too cumbersome as well. I'm seeing though that these are lighter and that might help quite a bit. If you had to go with one, I'd go with the longer as I'd think the 156s would be crappy on big lines and deep pow in the BC.

I'm 5'6" & 130 lbs. My carver is 160cm & I'm looking for a rockered ski for powder days. Would the 171 g3 Jam be too long for me? Should I go with the 166? I'm a solid intermediate skier with hopes of advancing this season.

Your call. Either will work for your size/ability. The bigger questions are: Do you prefer shorter/quicker turns or hi-speed arcs? And, do you prefer trees/bumps or wide-open spaces?

Has anyone tried to mount a Naxo binding on the Jam skis? Anything you'd recommend, or is it better to choose a different binding when looking for a setup that works well also for the downhill? Thanks in advance!

The Naxo will work, but there are a number of other bindings that will match the downhill performance and be significantly lighter for the tour. Check out the Dynafit Radical ST.

I'm an agressive alpine and tele skier looking for an AT setup that is versatile enough to play in and out of bounds on the East and West coast (ice, crud, groomed, powder). Would the G3 Jam perform well in all these conditions?

Thanks! I'd say I'll be about 50/50 East/West. I haven't had a new pair of skis in 10 years, so I'm excited to get something that will rock any condition. Can the Zest handle the ice of the East?

Hey Christy, You're asking alot from a single pair of sticks. The Jam may just be up to the task. You can rip it hard on the groomers, but it has enough float for the soft. I would ask where "most" of your skiing is done (in vs. out, east vs. west). All around the Jams are great, if you are spending more time in the deep and out west you may want a bit more width (100mm maybe?). The G3 Zest would work for that situation.

What length Jam (tele ski) do you suggest for a woman who weighs

What length Jam (tele ski) do you suggest for a woman who weighs 160, who used to be an aggressive tele skier but hasn't skied much recently? Would the Viva be a better all around ski? what length?

Deb, The Jam in a 171 would be awesome, unless you are truly slowing down a ton and/or really like tight trees & slalom turns. The Viva would also work, especially if you are moving from a much narrower ski. I'd stay with the 166 in the Viva. Enjoy!
