After massive brainstorming, the Folsom ski designers trickled down the shapes and technology from its mountain slayers in order to make the Completo Ski the most well-rounded all-mountain beast in its class. This mid-fat ski can be ridden hard on deep days, stuffed into tight technical chutes, and blasted across corduroy. It packs rocker for float, tip and tail taper to keep you from hanging up in choppy conditions, and an agile chassis to keep you quick on your toes. Greenhorns or vets can rely on this ski for any type of terrain, the tram or the chair, and for deep days or droughts that demand all-day laps on the hardpack.
Folsom
Skis uses a modified sandwich construction, in which materials are laid
in horizontal layers from bottom to top with epoxy resin bonding each
layer, to guarantee the most durable ski possible. In
addition, the engineers also incorporate Durasurf UHMW sidewalls into
the construction that doesn't crack or break and handles impact better
than ABS sidewalls. Rubber foil is also used in specific locations in
the ski to reduce vibration and to increase adhesion between the metal
edges and the fiberglass. As a result, this creates an incredibly damp
ski for a stable ride no matter what the terrain.
The Completo's core features hand-selected poplar and bamboo wood that
have been precision milled on Folsom's CNC machine to a tolerance of
.004 of an inch. As a result, you get a quality, durable ski that's
lightweight, poppy, and extremely responsive. In addition, Folsom
designers uses a carbon laminate or carbon stringers to increase the
overall strength of the ski.
Edges can be a game-changer especially when you blow one out or when
they're hardly thick enough to withstand a season of tuning, so Folsom
equipped the Completo with 2.1mm Rockwell 48 steel edges. Oh, and we can't
forget Folsom's Durasurf sintered base material, which can
take a beating while staying fast. Harder and with better wax absorption
properties than extruded bases, sintered bases are the industry
standard for performance and longevity.
