Fi'zi:k designed the Arione Tri 2 Saddle with K:ium Rails for athletes that use triathlons as training for an Ironman. It's optimized for the Tri/TT riding position, but features extra support and more padding for base longer miles.
Like Fi'zi:k's other tri-specific saddles, the Arione Tri 2 uses a flexible nylon shell in order to provide unrestricted pedaling, while carbon reinforcements ensure that the sit bones are properly supported. That theme continues through to the wide and flat nose of the saddle, as well. But, unlike standard tri-saddles, the Arione Tri 2 features additional padding in this area in order to prevent discomfort.
Fore and aft transitions are smooth due to a seamless front-to-back Microtex cover -- a synthetic leather akin to a microfiber. This cover material is not only durable for the extensive miles that the Arione Tri will endure, but it's also easy to clean. Additionally, Fi'zi:k employed its proprietary K:ium rails in order to ensure that the saddles weight is as low as possible. What is K:ium? Essentially, it's a combination of metal alloys and a specific tubular design. The result of its incorporation is an increased resistance to fatigue rails and a composition that's lighter than solid titanium. Incredibly, K:ium features a higher high strength-to-weight ratio than most alloys.
The Fi'zi:k Arione Tri 2 Carbon Saddle with K:ium Rails is 132mm wide and available in the color Gummy Black/black.
